The assembled nook measures approximately 11 cm wide and 25 cm tall, which slots comfortably between books on any shelf with at least 26 cm of vertical clearance. Most standard bookcases (IKEA Billy, for example) have 32 cm between shelves, so there is plenty of room. If your shelf is shallower than 17 cm, the 17 cm depth of the nook may protrude slightly at the front, but it will still stand securely.
